How To Care For Your Denim?

How To Care For Your Denim?

Here are 4 simple and easy precautions that everyone should take before buying themselves denim. Our most important piece of advice is to wash your jeans as rarely as possible. If you have only worn your jeans for a few hours or days, you don’t need to throw them in the laundry. Want a rule of thumb? If they look dirty or they smell dirty, they probably are dirty. Simple as that.

WASH COLD

It’s not compulsory to wash at the temperature indicated on the care label; it’s a maximum. Always wash as cold as possible unless you have difficult stains. Higher temperature yields quicker wear, affects synthetic fibres and increases your energy consumption.

AVOID SOFTENER & TUMBLE DRYING

These will ruin the stretch and make the denim look washed out faster. Also, softener is known to have a negative impact on the environment.

USE LIQUID DETERGENT WITHOUT BLEACH

No bleach is much gentler for the dyes and colours. When washing black garments the best option is to use liquid detergent for wool/silk.

WASH YOUR JEANS INSIDE-OUT

Also, inside-out washing is gentler for the dyes and the garment won’t look as washed out. Conversely, if you do want the washed out look, wash the garment outside-out.
